Holidays are done!!!

So the holidays are done and they have just completely flown by. I can not believe it is almost 2009. I know I have said this before but I feel like it was just NYE 2008. So CRAZY.
Christmas was great! I love the holidays especially now that there are so many kids in the family. Its really great to see all the kids enjoy themselves.
I have been off since Dec. 24th. I dont go back to work until Jan 5th. I am pretty much loosing my mind. We have been doing things here and there. Yesterday I went and had an endoscopy. That was fine. I have a hiatal hernia which I assume causes the reflux. I also had some redness in the lining of my stomache. My father has the same thing and he is fine so I am sure it is nothing.
Today Danny and Marissa (Brians brother) brought the kids down. We are keeping them overnight. Christoper is three and Ava is 4. They are really good kids. Owen didnt know how to handle them at first. He thinks he has to be the boss and tell them what to do because he is older. Then he wants to act just like them. He finally just relaxed and they all had fun. Bed time took a while. As a matter of fact I still have Chris laying with me on the couch watching TV. Its all good. He will konk out at some point. We dont get to spend too much time with them so its really good to see them.
Tomorrow Jen and Brandon will come down for NYE. I am sure we will have so dinner and drinks. I cant wait for that. We havent hung out with them in a while.
I took a bunch of pictures when we had out first snowfall. Everything was really pretty. Enjoy!!!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!!!

We had a really great Christmas. We went to Brian's parents house for dinner on Christmas eve and my parents house for brunch on Christmas day. All around it was great. Great food, fun with family and of course the wine/mimosas are always nice too!!!

We both have huge families so it is always a lot of fun. Kind of crazy and hectic but never a dull moment. I really wouldn't have it any other way! There are a lot of kids on both sides. The kids had a blast.

Santa was very good to Owen. That boy got everything he wanted and more. He is really into Star wars these days so most of what Santa brought him was Star Wars related. Everything he opened was as he says "What I have always wanted". He really got it this year. It was so much fun seeing his little face and the joy he had. He was so excited and over whelmed that he didn't know what to do. He would open a gift and then Brian would start to open the toy (which takes for ever). Owen would just stand there and wait for it, we had to remind him that there are more things for him to open under the tree. He really was so cute!!!!

Brian and I had a pretty nice visit from Santa as well.

Since the day I met Brian he has been talking about building himself a computer. Well nine years later his dream came true and Santa let him pick out all of the parts to build himself the computer of his dreams.

As for me, Santa brought me a brand new lap top!!! I have been wanting one for a while and now that I am trying to get into photography it will really help. I have my own system to store all of my files, programs, etc. I have a nice big screen to do photo editing. Its everything I want and then some.

I cant believe how fast Christmas has come and gone. It is crazy to me that it is almost 2009. I feel like I just celebrated New Years 2008. Time flies!!!

Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!!

The Boissonneault Family

These are the first official family pictures taken by me!!! It took us a while to get a good one but the end result was worth it. Now that they let me get these they are in for it. I will be chasing them down to get family pictures all the time. These two will run when they see a camera...its a good thing they love me!!!!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

We have had our tree up for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it. I love this season. We are feeling especially festive this year. The older Owen gets the more fun it gets. We get to talk about Santa, and how he watches us and know what we want. Owen keeps telling us what he wants. I will be so excited to see how he reacts to what Santa brings him.

We ran into a bit of drama yesterday.
I was leaving work and got hit by a lady who was backing out. Her car did quite a bit of damage to mine. It is not drivable at all. The bumper and front fender is smashed into the tire. Brian and I were concerned that because it was in a private lot her insurance would not cover it. We have insurance but really high deductibles and would have had to fork over quite a bit for a rental car. Who wants to do that at Christmas time. We certainly had not planned for anything like this. We got really lucky! I like to say that the nicest lady in the world hit my car. She was so apologetic and concerned. Her insurance company called us with in hours of the accident saying they are taking full responsibility for the accident and will pay for it all. It really is Christmas. I know it sounds corny but it is so nice to know that there are nice people out there still. I wonder about people sometimes and Brian and I tend to think the worst right off the bat. We got really lucky this time!

If I don't see or talk to some of you have a great holiday! and a Happy New Year!

Thanksgiving came and went

Thanksgiving was really great. Brian cooked a wonderful feast! It is tradition in the Boissonneault Family to take pictures of the food we cook. I can see why. It all looked so pretty!!!

We really did enjoy having everyone over for the day. Its the last one we will be able to host so it was really nice.
The day came and went so fast. It is almost depressing how much prep you do for a day that flies. Christmas is the same way. We are now onto Christmas with the decorating, buying gifts, telling Santa what we want. It is crazy now fast it comes.

Owen is really excited for Christmas this year. He helped Brian and I with the tree (pics to come). He loved doing but after a few branches he told me that its hard work and he wanted to rest. I let him have his rest. He also helped hang the ornaments. He was so into it too. I get so excited around this time of year.

The week is almost done!

This has been such a long week. I guess it is dragging due to the holiday next week. We are so excited to be hosting Thanksgiving. We never get to see anyone. I think we saw people more when we lived 4 hours away than we do now. Its understandable. We all have crazy busy lives and its hard to make plans. When we were in Pa we would come down for a whole weekend. So we would see everyone alot more. The visits were always crazy but at least we got to see people. Now it seems there is always something going on during the weekends. That would be my fault as I am the one constantly scheduling things. Oh well, Thanksgiving will be really nice. I cant wait. Then the Christmas season is here in full swing! I cannot believe how fast it came this year. I feel like it should still be September. I love the holidays, don't get me wrong but they always seem to creep up on me.

I did a photo shoot about a month back. I took some pictures of my best friend and her brother. They wanted to give it to their parents for Christmas. I was so happy to do it as I need the practice shooting and editing. Here are a few of my favorites.

Wants and Needs

So Brian and I have been doing alot of talking about our move and whats next. For those of you that do not know we are moving to Boston in June or July.

Here is the short of it...
Brian and I decided it was time for him to look for a new job. His commute is too long and we don't have any quality time together, we never get to eat dinner together! He comes home around 7 or 7:30 and is wiped, I am wiped from working all day, doing house stuff, Owen etc. Needless to say he would spend 20 min with Owen before he went to bed. Once Owen was in bed we would both be zombies. That is no way to live life. So we decided he should find another job that is local. Are we happy with where we are? NO but we were willing to settle to live a somewhat simple, normal life. Well Brian found a job within two weeks of looking. He accepted, went to Boston (Triumvirate Headquarters) to give his official notice to all the bosses. Well they weren't having it. They decided to counter offer and gave him an offer we couldn't refuse. They offered to move us to Boston and send Brian to school. All expenses paid up front. For those of you that have to pay a college tuition, you know how much that is and how hard it is to get a loan.

I know this sort of goes against what we were looking for but not really. We will be living less than 10 miles from his job, he will have a 9-5 schedule, a completely different job and 90% less stress. He will be in school full time. It will be difficult but will pay out in the long run. Neither of us have a degree. If he were ever to leave his company it would be impossible for him to get another job at his level without a degree. We have been talking about one of us getting a degree for some time now. There is never enough money or time. Well now we don't have to worry about the money and we will make the time.

I really can not wait for this. We will all benefit from it. It will be the move for a long time. We will be settling up there until Owen graduates high school. Or I should say until the next one graduates high school. Owen will start kindergarten a few months after we move, Brian will start school and I will probably take some Adobe and photography classes. It will be the best thing for all of us.

Lately we have been talking about having another baby. We were on the fence because it will be so chaotic with Brian working and in school. I think we have finally come to an agreement that we should try in August of 09. I can not wait. I think we are both ready.

OK that wasn't so short but ya know!

Halloween

Owen had a halloween party at school today. Luckily I work two streets away and was able to sneak out for an hour and see him at school. They had a parade and then a performer by the name of Tom Webber came to sing for them. He comes into school a few times a month so he knows all the kids and all the kids LOVE him! Owen was Wolverine. He was so excited to wear this costume. We got it a month ago and made him hold off until today. We put it in the closet so it would be out of sight. He didnt forget for a second that it was in there. We still have to go trick or treating tonight. I am excited for that. Owen has had a whole day of Halloween. He is going to be so tired tonight.

My Pictures

Here is the start of my Photography life!!! It is nothing great, I am still practicing!

A Walk down a path in Westport
My Handsome Guy

Some really pretty flowers on the side of the road.

I will probably post more as I go but for now these were just fun to take.
Owen practically runs away from me when I take my camera out. Hopefully this weekend I will get some good shots of him. I will be making up a photoshoot at my house and will be letting him throw balls at me so I am sure he will love that. We will see how it comes out. I think the more I practice the better I will get. Hopefully someday I will be a professional photographer.

My Bday

My birthday was yesterday and while yesterday kind of sucked due to me having to work the weekend was great. I had a really great birthday weekend.

On Friday night I received the second best gift I have ever gotten (1st being my camera). I got a goodie bag from my husband. It had a 70-300mm lens, camera bag, two batteries, camera cleaning kit, picture saving program and tripod. Who could ask for anything better. Well the next day I got a pair of uggs from my mother!!!! I have been wanting a pair and was going to get a pair in the next few weeks when voila!!!! My mother got me a pair for my bday! How awesome is that. On Saturday we got to have a night out. We went to an eighties themed party in NJ. It was so much fun. Owen stayed with my mom. Of course he had a blast. He got to see his cousins and my aunts and uncles. On Sunday when we picked him up Bill and my mom had us stay for a nice ham dinner. Kris came up and ate with us. It was a really relaxing Sunday at my moms. Bill cooked an awesome dinner (as usual). My mom and Owen baked me a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and pink writing (per Owens request). Owen thinks I have to have a pink cake and mermaid stuff. I guess its because I am a girl and that's what girls have.

Then there is the gift card I got from Brians parents from Ritz camera. They are always sooooo thoughtful!!! I will be going there very soon to get a flash. That will complete my kit (for now). The rest will be up to me. I have to work hard at taking pictures. Some how get paid and add on to my equipment! I really dont know what to say about this past bday other than thank you everyone for making it great.
