What a weekend

Well the Birthday celebration has commenced. My big guy turned seven on Thursday and it has been four days of celebrating.

He woke up to streamers and balloons. We wanted to make the day so special for him. Birthdays to me are a very special day. Its your one day a year to be celebrated (not that we dont celebrate each other all year).

  (present time)
                                       (what is in this box)

                             (are they sneakers???)

                              (OMG they are Heeleys. For those of you that dont know what Heeleys are they are sneakers with wheels on them)

We had smoothies for breakfast (his choice).

He went to his friends house for a bit, we went to another friends house for lunch, we went to the pool with friends and he had an extra special dinner!

Onto the party on Saturday.

He had a bunch of friends over for a few hours. They played a game of kick ball, had some pizza, cake, a water balloon toss and tons of fun!! It was soooooo hot! About 97 degrees and humid! They were champs.

 (for those of you wondering, no, my boy never wears a shirt and is always barefoot)

Onto Sunday! We had family over for cake. He is one lucky boy I tell you!

I have to say a big huge congratulations to my soon to be sister-in-law Sarah!!! Her and my brother-in-law just got engaged. I am so excited for them.

Is she glowing or what?!?!?

It was a very long, hot, tiring weekend and I would not have had it any other way. My boy was celebrated and is so lucky to have friends and family that love him so much!!!!

Shane is next!!! One next month. I am ready for round two!

Time Flies

Tomorrow my first born will turn seven. I cant even believe it. Where has the time gone.

I love every minute of being Owens mom. That boy has made me into the person I am today. He was our little surprise. He graced us with his presence and our lives have been forever changed. Brian and I love parenting our boys together. We are so lucky. We feel so proud when we sit back and watch Owen be Owen. He puts a smile on our faces everyday. He lives to put smiles on peoples faces.

Playing in the rain...every kid should play in the rain

He is the best big brother I know!

Quite the dare devil

 Shane will be one next month. I have a seven year old and a one year old. WHAT!!!!!

I had a ladies night last week when Brian and Shane went camping. My girlfriend brought me these!!! BEAUTIFUL!

Have a great week!

Summer is here!

Well I guess I have been a stranger around here. So many things to do so little time. There is so much going on in our life it has been hard to find the time to be here. But here I am!

School is officially out for the summer. I am actually really happy about it. I hear so many parents say how they dread summer vacation but I am relieved. We can have relaxing mornings since there is no where to go. We have relaxing evenings since there is no where to go in the morning. It wont be a challenge for me to find things to do because he starts camp in a week and a half. There is a park down the street so if we get restless we can take a walk and run it off for a bit.

What have I been doing? I have been being a mommy and house wife! While housekeeping isn't my forte, being a mom is! Brian asked me the other day if I wanted to go back to work and my honest answer was no! I felt guilty for saying no because I didnt want him to think I am being lazy but for the kind of job I would do its not worth my time and energy. And certainly not worth the money. I dont want to miss a second of my childrens life. This is the most important job I will ever do.

Last week I got to go the the school and watch my boy get his perfect attendance award for the year. If I was working I would have missed that. The next day I got to watch his spring concert and am so happy I was there. Shane is so attached to me and I love it. He and I have a very special bond. I am almost done nursing him and I am so sad to have it come to an end. I know it doesnt have to but it will.

I will miss his little hand reaching up to smack me in the face just to say hi, I will miss his pudgy feet kicking all over the place, I will miss him coming up to me to pick him up and having him nudge me to tell me what he wants. The biggest part of it I will miss believe it or not is the night nursing. While I dont enjoy getting up every two hours (sometimes every hour) I will miss that quiet time we get together when everyone else is sleeping, its dark and we can only feel eachother. We lay in bed and he nurses. His little hand reaches up gently to touch my face to make sure I am there (like I would be anywhere else). He falls asleep and sometimes so do I. I try to draw out the cuddle time but usually I walk him back to his crib in my sleep!

When we are finally sleeping through the night I will be so happy but I will miss that time we have!

My boys are getting so big! I want to savor every moment.

2011 has been rough on us but 2012 is our year. We are making changes in our life to have a great 2012.

Picture blog coming next...that takes alot more time than I have right now. For now I am posting pictures to FB. If you dont have FB I will send you links to the albums (DAD).

Shaney had his first haircut by Auntie Kris! Owen had crazy hair day and field day at school. Pics to come!

Long Weekends and Toasts

So much is going on in our lives. Hence the lack of blogging! I believe in the saying "If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all". So I say nothing. Lack of sleep and other things make it hard to stay positive. Everyday is a new day! What goes up must come down but it will go up again! I know that.

I get to start my long weekend celebrating my beautiful sisters wedding. We will gather tonight in Old Saybrook, CT at a beautiful castle overlooking the water to celebrate my sister and her new husband!!!!

It will be a beautiful night.

I get to toast my sister and her husband. Am I nervous, hell yes I am but I wrote a great speech with a little help from my hilarious husband! He added the funny parts because I am not that funny, more awkward than funny!

Grammy and Pepere are coming down to stay with the littles! I know they will be in good hands.

Sunday will be spent recuperating. We never go out so it will be a lazy day thats for sure. If I am feeling up to it I may have to take Owen out to the park or something.

Monday we will go to a parade and possibly the beach.

It will be a fun weekend! I am so glad summer is here! We are so fortunate to be so close to the beach.

Have a great weekend!

My May

Mothers Day has come and gone. It was the perfect day. A day spent with my kids and my husband, my mother and stepdad, Sister and her new hubby!!!! We looked at pictures of her wedding. She got married in Antigua on April 31. She looked amazing!!!

We ate pizza and drank beer. It was fun and relaxing. Just what I wanted a day to celebrate being a mother to be.

The Brian's passed out after a little walk, full bellies and a few beers.

For mothers day this year I got a beautiful orchid!

The back story here...

For my birthday my sister-in-law and brother-in-law got me an orchid. It was my first one and I loved it!!! It was so pretty and easy to take care of. One day Owen snapped it and it died. I had to throw it away. He felt really bad and was so apologetic. I got over it. Its a plant.

So for mothers day, Owen got me a new orchid. He said this one is a little less breakable. I agree but not when Shane gets his hands on it.

I love it more than anything!!!! Its perfect. (Dad is so smart)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Its spring!!!! I love spring in Black Rock. Everything is blooming and green. People come out of hibernation and its such a great place to be!!! Shane love being outside. He love exploring in the grass, eating dirt, feeling rocks and playing with sticks. EVERYTHING goes in his mouth.
Owen is playing baseball. He is on the Mariners this year. He looks so cute in his little uniform. I think sometimes he is more interested in playing with his friends than playing ball.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Shane is pulling himself up on everything these days.

Now that he is pulling himself up and crawling around he never wants to be held! Why would he, he wants to explore.

I have a feeling that little bro will be walking before his first birthday.

I will have my hands full, that is for sure.

He is an amazing eater. The kids eats anything I give him. I have yet to give him something he wouldnt eat, including beets.

My boys are having an amazing spring. Owen is signed up for summer camp again this year. THANK YOU Memere!!!!

We are having lots of play dates to keep busy and some long walks on the weekends. Owen has gotten so good with his scooter. Next I want us all to get bikes and go for long rides. For now Owen can just ride his and maybe I will run after him to get in some exercise.

Have a wonderful weekend!
