Big Steps

I end my day a happy mom.

I have one boy who rides his bike amazingly. Owen can take off all by himself. He got on that bike after six months of not riding and bam...its like he never stopped riding. I was so amazed!!!!

Then we have Mr. Shane. He ended the day saying Bababababa. Its so cute. He smacks his gums together and says bababba. You better believe I am going to get that on video. It makes my heart melt. I think seven months is his defining month!!!

Now to get him to sleep through the night. Maybe thats next ;)

Joy of Luck 2011 - Day Two "Green"

Day two of "the Joy of Luck". Our assignment was to capture "green". Green can mean many things:

• Buds on trees
• Greenery outside
• New life (baby)
• Pregnancy
• Childhood
• Smiles
• Green beer
• Shamrocks/clovers
• Grass
• Green (as in earth friendly)
• Recycles
• Money

I chose this picture for "green" because it just oozes innocence and for the obvious reason, the color green. This is my friends daughter. We were marching in the St. Patricks Day parade.

Tomorrows topic - "traditional lucky symbols". I will spend the day thinking of creative ways to capture this!

Joy of Luck 2011

I am doing a week long photo challenge from Willettedesigns.com.

Everyday she emails us with an assignment for the next day. Today was "gift".We had to capture something that we are grateful for that is not a person. I took a photograph of my home a while back and wanted to use it for this assignment.  I am so grateful to have a home and this is what I consider a gift. The gift of home!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

My baby can sit up!!!! He started off with the help of big brother.

Its a whole new world now that he can sit up. On to bigger and better things. No more staring at the ceiling.

Today we marched in the parade. Shane was good in the stroller while we waited but then got sleepy so I carried him in the ergo. I love this carrier and would be lost without it! He slept through the whole parade. Owen and his buddies had a ball!

Happy St. Pattys Day to all. I always feel a bit more proud to be Irish on this day!!!!

BOOTS

I woke up this morning and it was pouring out. My first thought was this is great. Its the perfect day for a nap. I need a nap after the night I  had. As time went by I wanted a cup of coffee. So I had myself a cup of coffee. Brian was home today. He was not feeling good so he took a sick day. So we had another cup of coffee. Two cups later and all hopes of a nap were out the window. It was a quiet, peaceful day with out a nap.

At some point this afternoon we heard our UPS guy pull up. Then a knock on the door. I was not sure what Brian ordered. I was not expecting anything for me. Well to my surprise I was wrong. My clever husband accessed my Amazon wish list and pulled these. I love them.

Who needs a car when you have galoshes. They came in handy on a day like today. My feet were dry!!!! Next I need to find a matching rain coat and a yellow umbrella and I will be in good shape. I will be one stylin, car-less chick walking her boy to school in the rain!

I realized that it has been way too long since I have picked up my camera. Why, I could not tell you. Its my passion and I have been letting it sit there for weeks. Well today I felt inspired to pick it up and shoot. So I set up a mini shoot with Shane. It felt good!!!

Look at this face!!! I could have shot him all day long!

He was upset that he could not have my camera. He wanted to play with it and the strap. Poor guy! He got over it once I picked him up and gave him some kisses and a different toy.

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's day. Owen is marching in the parade with his school. I am going to march with him. I cant wait!!!! So there will be plenty of pics to come.

Thankful

I cant imagine waking up and going about your day only to be sitting there one minute and the next experience the sheer terror those poor people have experienced. Then to be hit with a Tsunami right after. Wow is all I can say.

I sat here tonight with Owen and we watched video of the quake and tsunami. He asked questions, I answered. I feel it is very important for him to see what is happening and how it effects people. At first he was worried that it would happen here but once we explained it to him he was ok. He is so sad for them and wants to have the people who's houses were destroyed come live with us. My boy has such a huge heart. I will find a way that he can help them.

Its things like these that make me realize my problems are really not problems. I will not complain. I will sit back and be thankful for my family, my home and my nice comfy bed.

Good Bye Honda

Well it finally happened. My trusty little Honda has gone to car heaven (if there is one). We loved that car and I am not going to lie, I am a little attached to it. It was the first car I ever paid off, it was the car I brought my first born home in, it brought us back and fourth from PA to CT when we lived in PA. It has really been good to us for the seven years we owned it. It had 180k miles on it. It lived a good life.

Brian was driving to work this morning when the motor blew. It is just not worth fixing. The car is not worth the amount of money it would take to fix it. So we gave it to my step brother to have at his shop. If he can fix it great, if not he can prob use the parts or something.

I will miss my car but this will force us to get a new one. I think we will wait until the summer before we make the purchase. We wont have a problem only having one car for now.

Shaney is all over the place these days. He is not crawling yet but I feel like its coming soon. He rolls all over the living room and play room. He never wants us to hold him because he wants to explore. He loves this new found talent. Shane the explorer.

We are real close to him sitting too. He does by himself for a few seconds. Everyday it gets longer and longer. Where is my baby?!? He is getting so big.

He loves to eat. He is so into food. If we are eating he wants to eat too. He eats anything we give him.

I have not been able to get my thoughts in order these days which in turn means less blogging. I will get back to my old blogging ways soon enough!!! Same with pictures. I will take more of those too!!!
